Richard and his team provide world-class disaster management research, education, and technical expertise and training across the world. They work extensively and integrally with government ministries, national security forces and emergency services, major businesses and industries, as well as international humanitarian agencies and non-governmental organisations.
In addition to a 16-year military career, Richard has had an additional twenty years of experience in the field of international disaster management. This has prepared him to extract the very best from our Conference presenters as well as meeting the demands of delegates.

Bournemouth University Disaster Management Centre (BUDMC) undertakes ground breaking and pathfinding research and professional practice in disaster management around the world. The Centre delivers Post Graduate and PhD programmes in disaster management both in the UK and overseas. The Centre’s MSc programme is delivered via a series of taught one-week Continuous Professional Development modules (CPDs) allowing busy professionals to achieve a postgraduate Masters qualification whilst maintaining current roles and responsibilities.
